Mount Kilimanjaro is not only the highest point in Africa, it is the highest independent mountain in the world! Any climber attempting to climb Kilimanjaro must prepare mentally and physically with a regimen of exercises and understanding of altitude.

Each year, about 35,000 or more climbers face the challenge of ascending Kilimanjaro. Unfortunately, the statistics show a dropout rate of 30% to 50% of all climbers. This means that about a third to half of all climbers return.
Although Kilimanjaro is a “walkable mountain”, meaning no special equipment is needed to reach the top, that doesn’t mean it’s an easy climb. Hikers need to be physically fit, but with a height of 5,895m it may not be enough to be in good shape. Training for Kilimanjaro is essential for a safe and successful summit.
