Dar es Salaam was the first capital of Tanzania until Dodoma when it was declared the capital in 1974. However, as of now Dar es Salaam remains the business hub city, most popular and has one of the most accessible International Airports in the country. Traveling from this city is not usually the main option for every traveler to start their African journey. Unlike the well-known travel circuits of the north, the tourist parks around Dar es Salaam are less controversial, remote and cheap. If your travel plans prevent you from going further and you still want to take a trip, visiting a park near the capital is not the worst decision one can make.
