Tanzania is the main destination for African hunting safari for international tourists. It has one of the largest populations of large-scale hunting in Africa, with more wildlife diversity than most of the rest of the world. Hunting is part of Tanzania‘s wildlife conservation strategy – the requirement for its long-term survival.

For decades, hunting safaris have been organized in protected areas, such as hunting reserves, and hunting-controlled areas by licensed hunting companies. Tanzania Wildlife Authority (TAWA) is regulating all hunting activities.
