One of the main attractions of Kilimanjaro is that you don’t have to be a climber to conquer it. She could be a secretary, a farmer, a 10th grader, a retiree, or a professional runner. That includes not having used a single piece of mountaineering gear or previous rock climbing experience to scale the top of Africa’s highest mountain. With good hiking shoes and determination, you can make it to the top.
That’s not to say, however, that ascending into this incredible natural wonderland of the sea is a breeze. It is a dark room with very difficult climatic conditions, uneven floor and exposed to the elements. But we can assure you that the sense of accomplishment and the views from the top are worth all the effort.
